It seems BT want to get a slice of the tablet computer market by unveiling its own version of an Apple iPad on Friday.

In front of an audience of analysts from the City, Bt Retail chief executive Gavin Patterson demonstrated the yet unnamed device which can also be used as a phone, reports The Guardian.

The BT tablet is expected to be smaller then the iPad which Apple are set to release in the UK on the 28th May 2010.

No confirmation has been give on the operating system but I would expect it to run some version of Windows Mobile 7. It has been confirmed that it will have its own range of apps and a on demand gaming service that will allow people to play the latest games online.

This new tablet opens up another apps market for developers and more importantly a British technology rival to the US Apple iPad.
